It is nice to make dinner and know the source of most of your food items.
The BBQ Sandwiches were a big hit with the family and as an added bonus for me they were easy to make since I did most of the work in the summer canning and freezing the items. I just had to start the meat and Homemade canned BBQ sauce in a slow cooker in the morning and let it cook all day. I later added a teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce and some browned onions before serving on a seeded bun. I then cooked some frozen green beans, opened a jar of gala applesauce produced during the summer stocking up.
