Barbecued Pork

Most of the time individual eat grapefruit chilled and cut in half and use a special curbed knife to cut and section it then eating it "half-shell". Some people sweeten it with white or brown sugar, or a bit of honey. This is a nice change of pace Barbecue sauce by using grapefruit. .I really believe it would be great on other types of meat and even with stronger types of meat.

pork chops

1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup ketchup
1/4 cup grapefruit juice
1 tablespoon chopped ginger
Vegetable oil cooking spray
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 pound loin, cut into 8 slices or pork chops boneless

Cook sugar, ketchup, juice and ginger in a small saucepan over low heat, stirring occasionally until sauce thicken, about 5 minutes. Set aside. Coat the grill with cooking spray and heat on high, Sprinkle on salt. Grill about 15 minutes, turning once halfway through , until no longer pink in the center. Brush with barbecue sauce and serve immediately.
