These Tasy Starters will kick off your celebration. I used green sugar sprinkles for the glaze.

2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 cup butter or margarine, cut into chunks
1 cup raisins
1 cup buttermilk
1 egg white, lightly beaten, for graze
Additional sugar, for glaze

Preheat oven to 425F. Coat 2 baking sheets with vegetable cooking spray.

Combine flour, sugar, bkaing powder, baking soda, salt, and nutmeg in large bowl. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs,. Stir in raisins; mix in buttermilk with fork. Gather dough into ball and knead on lightly floured surface about 2 minutes. Roll or pat dough into circle, 3/4 inch. With a shart knife, cut into 3-inch wedges. Place 2 to 3 inches apart on prepared baking sheets. Brush tips with egg white; sprinkle with sugar.

Bake about 15 minutes or until nicely browned. Serve warm with butter or jam.
