Microwave Stromboli Sandwich
1 pound ground beef
2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
1/2 cup tomato sauce
1/2 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1/4 teaspoon oregano
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 cup butter (I used soft tub margarine which I just mixed and spread on)
6 French Rolls
6 slices mozzarella cheese
In a 1 1/2 quart microwaveable pan combine the ground beef and onion. Cook 4 to 5 minutes, stirring halfway through cooking time. Spoon off drippings.
Stir in the tomato sauce, ketchup, parmesan cheese, garlic salt, and oregano. Cook, covered 5 to 6 minutes, stirring halfway through cooking time.
In a 1 cup glass measure combine garlic powder, and butter; heat 30 seconds. Stir to blend. Brush over the inside of topside of each roll.
Divide meat evenly. and spred on bottom halves of each roll. Top with 1 slice mozzarella, place tops on buns, and wrap each in a napkin.
MIcroware as followed:
Rotate one quarter turn halfway through cooking time. 30 to 45 seconds for one sandwich. 1 1/2 to 2 minutes for 3 sandwiches. 3 to 4 minutes for 6 sandwiches.
