Outback Damper

This is a bread that can be made using a campfire like they do in the Australian Bush using a cast-iron Duch oven but you can also make it in a regular oven.

4 cups all-purpose flour
4 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
About 1 2/3 cups warm milk or water

Stir until dough sticks together well. Heat cast-iron dutch oven over campfire. When hot put the dough inside. place oven over coals, and cover lid with hot coals. Bake about 30 minutes.

Oven:

Put dough into 9 inch pie plate forming a round loaf. Bake uncoved at 375 degess F for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown. Let stand 10-15 minutes before cutting.
