Deutsches Beefsteak and Bratkartoffelin Meal


Deutsches Beefsteak.
Fried Potatoes (Bratkatoffeln)
Cauilflower withCheese Sauce.


Just about every county has a form of fried potatoes. The German style is very simple and very popular in certain areas of Germany.


Fried potatoes (Bratkartoffeln)

For 4 portions

2 pounds potatoes
2 onions
3/4 cup oil
salt
black pepper


Peel the potatoes, wash them and cut them into fine slices. (If the slices are too thick, the potatoes won't get tender in the pan, because they are not cooked before frying). Heat up the oil in a large pan. Then roast the potatoes briefly. Add the minced onions and fry it for about 25 minutes, until the potatoes start getting soft. Season well.
