I use Turkey Bacon


Blanched Green Beans with Bacon

none

1 quart boiling water
1/4 cup sugar
1 lb green beans (fresh); trimmed
2 tablespoon olive oil
2 tablespoon bacon; fried
1/8 teaspoon pepper

Add water in a heavy sauce pan. bring to boil and add sugar. Stir until
just melted. Add green beans; cover pan. Boil hard for 6 minutes; drain.
Plunge beans into ice water to stop cooking and drain again.

in skillet heat olive oil and add beans. Cook just until heated, about 2
minutes. Add bacon; stir well. Remove from heat; season with black pepper.
Serve hot.
