Giant Oven Burger

Tired of pressing out individual hamburger patties? Then this recipe’s for you. One giant burger you cut into wedges. Top with your favorite burger fixings.

1 ½ pounds ground beef
½ cup belled pepper (optional)
¼ cup chopped onion
1 tablespoon horseradish (optional)
1 tablespoon prepared mustard
½ teaspoon slat
½ cup chili sauce or ketchup
1 unsliced round loaf Italian of sourdough bread, 8 inches in diameter

Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Mix all ingredients except Chile sauce and bread. Press beef mixture in ungreased pie plate. 9x1 ¼ inches. Spread sauce over. Bake uncover 45-59 minutes or until no longer pink in center; drain. Let stand 5 minutes. Cut bread crosswise into halves. Carefully place burger between halves. Cut into wedges.

6 servings.
