Roger's Round Top Chocolate Chip Pie

I have not tried this but I pan to in the future. It is a recipe form a Texas family that homesteaded there around 1780. Very typical old recipe that has all a lot of the ingredients with the same measurements.

6 servings

1 cups sugar
1 cup brown packed sugar
1 cup flour
2 large eggs, slightly beatened
1/2 cup melted unsalted butter
1/2 cup coarsely chopped walnuts or peanuts
1/2 cup chocolate chips
1 (10 inch) pie shell

Mix sugar, brown sugar and flour together.
Stir in the eggs and then the butter, combining well. Fold in the nuts and chocolate chips. Spread in the prepared crust and bake a 325 degrees F for 60-70 minutes or until a knife inserted in the middle comes out clean.
Note: This pie frezzes very well.
