Droste Chocolate Recipes

Dorste happens to be one of my favorite chocolates. I like to use their baking chocolate for the most of the chocolate recipes I make. My favorite recipe from Droste is a Brownie recipe. They had sadly taken it off their packaging and I was without the recipe. I have lucky found it on the internet so I will again make these wonderful brownies again. I have also included their recipe for chocolate muffins but have not converted the recipe to US measurements yet.

Droste Fudge Brownies

2 tablespoons Droste's cocoa
1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1 egg, beaten
1/4 cup melted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup chopped nuts
1/2 cup sifted cake flour

Heat oven to 325. Mix all ingredients together well, beating for
one minute. Pour into greased 8 x 8 x 2 inch pan. Bake 20 - 25
minutes or until done. Cut into squares while warm. Cool, then
remove from pan. Makes 16 squares.

Chocolate Muffins (11 muffins)

25 gr. Droste cocoa
1 egg
125 ml. milk
190 gr. flour
80 cc corn oil
1 package baking powder
Pinch of salt
110 gr. Sugar
Paper muffin forms

Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). Mix the egg, milk and oil together in a medium mixing bowl. Sift the Droste cocoa, the flour, baking powder and salt into the egg, milk and oil mixture. Add the sugar and beat with a mixer until you achieve a smooth, creamy batter. Place the paper muffin forms in the muffin pan. Fill the forms 2/3 full with the muffin batter. Place the pan in the middle of the oven and bake the muffins for 20 to 25 minutes. Turn the muffins out on a cake rack to cool.
