Chicken Fried Steak

This is a popular entree all over the United States. A lot of them use the prepared frozen breaded meat so if you can find a place that makes their own orif you prepare your own you are in for a treat. It is really very simple to make but you need to have the oil at the correct temperture. You can also use chicken to prepare chicken fried chicken. This is bery easy to prepare using cube steaks but you can also pound you own meat, if desired. Milk gravy or brown gravy is the desired topping on this entree. It can go with a lot of side dishes but I like to have fried orka, french fries or baked potatoes and buttered corn

INGREDIENTS:

2 cube steaks, about 6 oz each
1/4 cup
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp paprika, or more to taste
1 cup vegetable oil, or less if desired

DIRECTIONS: Pat the steaks dry; set aside. Combine 1/4 cup of flour, salt, pepper & paprika on a plate, stir with a fork until well blended. Coat each steak with the flour mixture, pound lightly on both sides with a rolling pin to help the meat absorb the flour. All the flour should be used. Heat the oil in a skillet until very hot (375 F). Add the steaks & cook until seared & well crusted on one side, about 2 minutes. Turn over with tongs & cook 2 minutes more. Transfer the steaks to a plate lined with paper towels & keep warm until serving.
