Mango cobbler

This came out wonderful. Maybe a little too sweet but I liked it. All it needs is some vanilla Ice cream or whipping cream on top. You could add some mace, cloves or other spices with the cinnamon and it would give it a special touch. I also noticed while preparing the recipe that the directions did not have the directions for the cobber topping so I fixed the problem. I also add the temperture and baking time

INGREDIENTS:

·2/3 cup sugar
·1 tablespoon cornstarch
·1 cup water
·3 cups sliced mangos
·1 teaspoon lemon juice

·1 1/2 teaspoons butter

·1 cup flour
·1/3 cup sugar
·1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
·1/2 teaspoon salt
·3 tablespoons shortening
·1/2 cup milk
·1 tablespoon granulated sugar mixed with 1 teaspoon cinnamon

PREPARATION:

Mix sugar and cornstarch in saucepan , gradually stir in water and fruit and lemon juice.Heat, stirring well. Pour into 1 1/2qt. Baking dish; dot with margarine. Combine the flour, 1/3 cup sugar, baking powder, salt and shortening. Add the milk. Spoon over over the mango mixture covering as much as possible. It will spread during baking. Sprinkle the sugar cinnamon mixture over the top. Bake for about 45 minutes at 350 degrees F.
