Spiced Pears
I got some fresh pears in my box with Heartland Share. Since we are not big consumers fresh pears I decided to find a recipe to use them. Fruit is a wonderful contrast to many entrees. This recipe makes a lot so you might want to make around 1/4 of this recipe.
Spiced Pears
fruits, relishes/preserves, Side Dish
2 pounds firmly packed brown sugar
3 tablespoon vinegar
3 teaspoon cloves
3 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Cook the brown sugar, vinegar, cloves, and cinnamon in a stockpot on medium
heat until thick, stirring occasionally. Pour the mixture over the pears
and serve.
Fresh pears can be used too.
