Kashmiri Naan (Bread Machine Recipe)





Filling ready to put inside


This is a naan stuffed with cashew. almond and cherry paste.

8 servings

2 teaspoons actived dry yeast
2 cups bread flour
1 teaspoon Sugar
1/4 teaspoon Salt
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1/2 cup plain yogurt
1/2 cup milk

Mix the dough in bread machine on dough cycle going by your bread machines directions.

Stuffing:

1/3 cup granulated sugar
2 tablespoons + 2 teaspoons cashews
1 tablespoon almonds
1/2 cup maraschino cherries

Use a grinder or food processor to process the ingredients to a fine paste.

To form naan divide into 8 pieces. roll out into thin circle, about 6 inches in diameter. Put some of the stuffing in the center and fold up the edges and pinch together to enclose the stuffing; press with your finger to flatten the dought into a large 9-inch diameter circle. Preheat the oven to 450°F. Bake 7 to 10 minutes or until golden. Lightly brush the bottom of each naan with water and cover, or eat as soon they are cool enough to handle.
