Hamburger Casserole- Amish

You can make this in 30 minutes if you have leftover rice or instant rice. So it is a very fast and hearty casserole.

Hamburger Casserole

Serves: 4 to 6

2 pounds ground beef
1 (16 ounce) can tomato sauce
1 cup cooked white rice
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/4 cups chopped and seeded bell pepper
1 tablespoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
2 cups shredded Cheddar of Colby Cheese

Preheat oven the 350 degrees F. Brown ground beef in skillet add onions and bell peppers the last two minutes or so. Drain and remove from heat. In a 3 quart casserole dish, mix together beef mixture, tomato sauce, rice, chili pepper, salt pepper and 1 cup cheese. Spread the remaining cheese over the top and bake for 20 minutes, until the cheese melts and the casserole is hot throughout.
