Grilled Ground Meat (Kabab Kubideh) Persian - Iran


1 pound ground beef or lamb
1 med onion, grated
1/4 cup breadcrumbs or white flour
1 egg slightly beatened, optional
1 teaspoon tumeric
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon lemon juice


Mix all ingredients well in a bowl put into a fridge overnight or at least a few hours.

Divide the meat into 10-12 portions. Press each potion around skewers and shape evenly.

Place skewers a few inches away fro the grill coals. Turn constantly for a couple of minutes. You can also use the oven at 350 degrees F and cook until done or a electric grill(George Foreman).

Serve with rice.
