Low-fat Green-Bean Casserole
Prep: 5 minutes Cook: 30 minutes
The favorite part of this dish -the crisp topping- is still here, but now it's made with fat-fee onion melba rounds instead of canned French-fried onions. This is low-fat but has high sodium amount. I like to use canned greans beans that you get low sodium.
1 can (10 3/4 ounces) 99% fat-free condensed cream of mushroom soup
1/2 cup water
1 teaspoon soy sauce
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 bag (20 Ounces) or 2 boxes (9 ounces each) frozen cut green beans, thawed and drained
1 3/4 cups crushed fat-free onion melba rounds (27 rounds)
Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Have a deep 1 1/2 quart casserole ready
Mix soup, water, soy sauce and pepper in the casserole. Stir in green beans and 1 cup of the crushed melba rounds.
Cover and bake 20 to 25 minutes until hot. Uncover, sprinkle with remaining crushed rounds and bake 8 to 10 minutes longer until browned.
