Vruchtenbrood


Vruchtenbrood (Harvest Bread)


2 cups sifted flour
3/4 cups sugar
4 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoons salt
1/4 cup each citron and currants
2 Tablespoons chopped candied cherries
2 tablesoons candied lemon peal
1/2 cup chopped nuts
2 eggs beaten
1 cup milk
3 tablespoons shortening, melted

Sift flour, baking powder, salt and sugar together. Add fruits and nuts. Beat eggs, combine milk and shortening. Add to the flour mixture and stir enough to moisten the flour. Pour into a well greased loaf pan. Bake 1 hour at 375 degrees F.
